It is an outgrowth of the two great movements of thought in the economic and the political fields which characterise the nineteenth century, and especially its second part. Alexander Kropotkin. Alexander Kropotkin, the son of Aleksei Petrovich Kropotkin and Yekaterina Nikolaevna Sulima, was born in Moscow, Russia, in 1841. The family was fairly wealthy and came from a noble lineage (Alexander was in fact a prince). His younger brother was Prince Peter Kropotkin. Alexander's mother died of tuberculosis in 1846.
