Improvisation is composing on the spot, when a singer or instrumentalist invents melodies and lines over a chord progression played by rhythm section instruments (piano, guitar, double bass) and accompanied by drums. He has presented clinics on jazz improvisation to music educator conferences in Utah, Colorado, and Ohio. In 2017 he was invited to present at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago.
